Here are some help files and site features. You may also click on the Category in our side bar that says Help.

Registration:

Click Register (Left hand side Top of any page) and fill out the form. A Password is sent to your email. You may need to check your Junk Mail folder. Click the link in the email or come back here and Click Login. Enter the Username and Password in your email. For More Help Click Here

If you are having problems Registering or Signing in please use our Contact form for assistance. Please put in the Username and Password you tried to sign up with.

Posting:

Posting to this site can be done by anyone who is properly registered. You may need to have your post approved by an Administrator. Allowing you to Post is at the sole discretion of the Administrator(s) and Board of Directors.

Here is a video tutorial we put together on how to Post to a blog. You may see less options in your admin area if you are not an Administrator. Your Publish button may say Submit for Review. Hints on Posting:

Don’t forget to select a Category for your Post so people are properly notified. If a category is not assigned or not visible with your user role the Administrator may create a new category or assign one for your Post.

We installed something additional to the video above. It is called Post Expiration. This feature is available if your Post is of no further use after a certain date. For example, a retirement, dining out or other event.

Retirements and other areas that may require a Map:

Please enter the address of places people will want to get directions for. In each Post there is something called MapPress which allows a nice Google Map with directions to appear. If you have trouble let an Administrator know. Put the address in your Post and an Admin can insert the Map for you.

When you are logged in:

After you login you may find yourself unfamiliar with how to use the Post feature. It is very simple. Click the Post link on the left side of your admin area. A drop down list appears that will allow you to Add New under Posts. Give your Post a Title and then type up your content. You can Paste in from other documents but it might look funny. If you copy and Paste from Word you can use the Paste from Word Icon in your menu bar to help format the text. You will most often get double spaces. Just delete the extra lines like you would in Word or any email client. DON’T FORGET TO HIT PUBLISH OR SUBMIT TO POST OR HAVE YOUR POST REVIEWED.
