This was before the unit moved down the hill to its new digs, back before the unit had a club. That's where I met Beemie. He was a crusty old guy with a gravelly voice. He loved to tell lawyer jokes, and since I was the JAG, most of his jokes were aimed in my direction. Over the next few years I got to like him. Beneath the gruff exterior he was a good guy. He retired, and I retired, and I lost track of him until I read this post about his death. Here's to you, Beemie. I'm sure that you're up there hoisting a few cool ones, and telling lawyer jokes. In our article about the Annual Outstanding Troop Awards, I mistakenly listed them in the 148th ACOS, whatever that is.
